Cycling in Suffolk
Suffolk is a cyclists’ paradise, the county is full of beautiful views, unspoilt landscape, plenty of woods and forests, 50 miles of coast, and thousands of quiet country roads. As a cyclist, you can take advantage of the tracks where cars are not able to access, giving you the opportunity to explore the stunning Suffolk countryside in a way that you may have never seen, and of course, it’s a brilliant form of exercise.
Our favourite route is Dunwich and Minsmere. The route begins at Dunwich, just outside our little pub, so if you’re heading out early, why not pop by for a delicious breakfast first to set you on your way. The route then continues onto Westleton, while in Westleton, you may stumble across our sister inn, The Westleton Crown, where they would love to welcome you with a refreshing drink or a spot of lunch. From Westleton you will head to Minsmere where you can experience the beautiful coastal nature reserve and get a glimpse of some of the UK’s rarest wildlife. From here you can carry on to Greyfriars Priory and sit amongst the ruins which is a perfect spot to have a well-earned relaxing break, then continue back to Dunwich where an ice cream on the beach will be waiting for you.
There are many other fantastic routes to explore in Suffolk and plenty of places to hire bikes. Below we have listed several sites that will help you find the perfect route and provide you with more information.
